Branislav Milojković published a paper at the scientific Symposium INFOTEH®-JAHORINA 2010

24.03.2010.

Software testing has been established as a scientific, as well as an engineering discipline, for many years, even decades. For the purpose of performance control within the software testing process, besides paying attention to effort and resources, it is also necessary to apply adequate techniques for choosing the elements of the tested software product. This paper describes the implementation of two combined techniques - "Cause-Effect" analysis and combinatorial testing, on the example of an existing software product – MS PAINT. "Cause-Effect" analysis of the tested system optimizes the number of tests according to the mutual “input-output" coupling, while combinatorial testing is focused on the occurrence of software errors due to interaction of multiple system factors and, through its various sub-techniques, also provides an optimal choice of tests. The paper points out both the advantages and disadvantages of those techniques and recommends the decision making processes for a more general choice of testing technique.

Working on this project started as a part of the Software Testing exam at the School of Computing, under the mentorship of Prof. Ljubomir Lazić. The task at the exam was to design a Master Test Plan – a document that would provide a thorough description of a plan for a software product testing. Students were encouraged to carry out an independent research and make a plan according to modern standards and then add the results of their own independent research. Exactly that sort of additional research within a project makes the content of the paper presented at the Infoteh Symposium in Jahorina.

At the Symposium, the paper was presented within the students’ discussion forum, where 25 professional student papers and/or discussions were presented.

Two RAF teams - best placed teams from Serbia at Bubble cup 2009

07.09.2009.

Buble cup

In the competition of all schools from Serbia where computer science is studied, two teams from The School of Computing won the second and third place at the finals of ’’Bubble cup 2009’’, organized by Microsoft developer centre in Belgrade. After a number of qualification rounds, 17 teams placed in the final competition, mostly consisting of students of technical schools from Serbia (ETF, MATF, RAF Beograd, PMF Novi Sad, PMF Niš), but there were also six foreign teams.

Surlaši, the team from Croatia, won the first place, Royal Air Fork team (Miloš Stanković, Srećko Toroman and Andrija Jovanović) from RAF, won the second and Royal Air Force team (Maja Kabiljo, Igor Kabiljo and Miroslav Bogdanović) won the third place. The following team was from Romania, whereas the fifth place was won by the team consisting of two high school students from Belgrade (Uglješa Stojanović – High School of Computing and Nikola Mrkšić – Mathematical High School).

The second finals of the ’’Bubble cup’’ competition took place at the School of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade, on Saturday, September 5, 2009. It was in the form of a team competition, where three-member teams were supposed to complete ten tasks in five hours. During the competition, the teams had an opportunity to see the progress of other teams, by winning balloons of different colours for each completed task.

Student Uroš Delić at professional development program at MIT

13.05.2009.

Uroš Delić, a second year student of the School of Computing is spending three and a half months at professional development program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology MIT, which is one of the best world universities. Uroš is going to work in the group of Prof. Dr. Vladan Vuletić, which is a part of the Research Laboratory of Electronics, whose researches are focused on particle manipulation in an area where quantum mechanical effects rule their behaviour.
