### Biography

Irena Jovanović earned B.Sc. degree in mathematics at the Department of Numerical Mathematics and Optimization at the Faculty of Mathematics, University of Belgrade, in 2006. One year later, she completed her M.A. in mathematics at the same Department by defending the master’ s thesis named “Heat conduction equation with the concentrated capacity”. She received her Ph.D. degree in mathematics from the University of Belgrade in 2015. During the PhD studies, she mainly studied problems related to the graph theory, discrete optimization and location problems, and she elaborated her PhD thesis named “Spectral recognition of graphs and networks“. Her research area is (spectral) graph theory and its applications.

Irena Jovanović worked as a SQL developer and a software testing engineer. Currently, she is employed as an assistant professor at the School of Computing, UNION University, Belgrade. She is teaching the following courses: Discrete Mathematics, Algebra, Mathematical Analysis and Graph Theory and Combinatorics. She is the author of several journal papers in the area of spectral graph theory. She has attended numerous summer schools in mathematics, and she has been engaged as a researcher on projects of energetic efficiency, fundamental research and interdisciplinary research funded by the Serbian Ministry of Science.
